The Inspiration and Emergence of HT Caravans
The inspiration and emergence of HT Caravans into Western Australia evolved from the initiative of father-and-son team — Bruce and Jake Luck.
After Bruce bought a Hilltop H17 Limited Edition from the eastern states, and then visited the Hilltop factory with his son Jake, it became clear to both that Hilltop Caravans should be represented in Western Australia with a dedicated dealership.
But Bruce and Jake’s background was in the building industry, and the homes they were building were not on wheels. While they had earned a reputation for integrity, precision, and hands-on service in construction, they needed caravan industry expertise behind them to do justice to this new venture.
Enter a colleague with caravan industry knowledge and a 10-year association with Hilltop Caravans — former Tasmanian caravan dealer, Ron Coenen.
To now complete the picture, we have Bruce and Jake, Ron, and of course, Dham and Dula — the owners of Hilltop Caravans.

A Tree or Sea Change — Built for Adventure
Bruce and Jake Luck are no strangers to quality craftsmanship. As the driving force behind Luck Building and Construction and Earth Walls WA, this father-and-son team earned a reputation for integrity, precision, and hands-on service across Western Australia’s building industry.
Their journey took an unexpected — but inspiring — turn after Bruce purchased his H17 Limited Edition Hilltop van. Blown away by the superior build quality and genuine customer service, Bruce shared the experience with Jake.
In 2025, the pair visited Hilltop’s manufacturing base to see it all for themselves. What started as curiosity quickly turned into conviction — they knew they wanted to bring Hilltop Caravans to WA.
Bruce and Jake applied to become the exclusive Western Australian distributors of Hilltop Caravans, and with the support of their close-knit extended family, they’ve made the leap — leaving behind construction sites for campsites, and trade tools for tow bars.

Meet Ron — Our Industry-Experienced Colleague
The HT Caravans journey wouldn’t have been possible without Ron, our trusted consultant and long-time industry professional. With over 26 years in the caravan industry — including 20 years running his own successful dealership in Tasmania — Ron brings a wealth of knowledge, insight, and passion to HT Caravans.
Ron has been associated with Hilltop Caravans since the very beginning. Recommended to him by another Victorian caravan manufacturer, Hilltop’s outstanding build quality, clever layouts, no-nonsense after-market service, and genuine customer focus made it an easy choice.
In semi-retirement, Ron has also worked with Hilltop’s Queensland dealer, representing and selling the brand at caravan shows throughout Queensland and New South Wales. Having seen the industry evolve over decades, Ron’s wisdom and practical advice have helped shape HT Caravans into what it is today. His experience continues to guide our team as we grow — making sure we deliver not just great caravans, but great service too.
A testimony to his belief in the product, Ron now owns his third Hilltop caravan — a 22’ Thredbo XK, a unique prototype.
The Hilltop Story
After gaining 6–7 years of industry experience as an employee, Dham wanted to put his own ideas into practice. Following extensive research and development throughout 2015, his first van — a 21’ Hilltop Hotham — was born.
By mid-2019, Hilltop had produced over 17 different layouts. Since then, Dham’s blend of caravan, engineering, and technical skills — along with Dula’s financial and management expertise — has lifted Hilltop Caravans to new heights.
Today, Hilltop Caravans is a highly regarded name within the Australian caravan manufacturing industry. With support from a dedicated team and strong dealer network, Hilltop continues to raise the bar, delivering quality caravans and genuine service at every step.
Proof of the love and respect Hilltop customers have for both the brand and for Dham and Dula can be seen in the numerous positive reviews across all forms of media. That passion extends even further at Hilltop owner gatherings across the country — where, of course, Dham, Dula, and their staff are always there too.
